We are Michael Jack and Eilidh. We are the Young Project Leaders for the ‘Discovering Nature on My Doorstep’ Project. We met through volunteering events at Linn Park, Glasgow where we help with wildlife improvements and other volunteer activities with the community group Friends of Linn Park.

Jack Steel

Jack has volunteered for the RSPB and other groups. He has a long-standing interest in wildlife and is hoping to become a vet.  In 2019 he attended some events run by the Friends of Linn Park and in 2020 will be assisting the Group with their nest-box monitoring programme. He has raised over £200 for charity as part of his Duke of Edinburgh award.

Michael Sinclair

An award winning naturalist and community volunteer Michael is passionate about working with other young people to get them more involved with the  natural world. He runs his own website to showcase his work. He has spoken to crowds of over 700 people about climate change and has an involvement with Extinction Rebellion.

Eilidh Mitchell-Luker

Eilidh is an active climate striker who volunteers for her community. She has been very involved with environmental improvements at her school. She is a very confident individual who is great at encouraging others to get involved in learning about the world around them. She wants to see an increase in practical environmental teaching throughout the education system and feels this project will provide great opportunities for young people in Glasgow to learn about nature.
